Ashwin Gonsalves was a case of “arrested hydrocephalus with severe DNS with Epilepsy” meaning he had a rare condition where his brain got filled with water and was handicapped and not able to walk properly since birth and the condition was deteriorating with passing time. There was sadly no cure for this and he was a terminally ill patient. 

He lived with his mommy and aunt Sylvie who too was unfortunately completely bed ridden.

He had lost his father in 2016. He needed regular medicines, and this month he needed blood tests and MRI to be done as his condition was worsening. Family was extremely poor. If you visit the basti of VidyaVihaar West, you don’t need his address. He is famously known as Ashwin Handicap and anyone will take you to his house. When our trustee Arti Shah visited them, we realised how much help and love this family truly needs as they have no earning member!
