How does it work?
Every month we take up a mission. Our founder and her team verifies all the details to ensure that it is a 100% honest cause. We also believe in complete transparency. We share all the details of the recipient and all the cross-checked facts on our website and social media handles, so that the donor can verify himself/herself that the cause is genuine and there is a person that is really in need of our help.
Once all factuals are in place we put out the campaign details on our website and social media handles and reach out to the Giving Tree Community over whatsapp message. We never email, we never approach more than once a month.
If the cause strikes a chord with you, you can donate up to a maximum of INR 1000. The idea for keeping a 1k cap is to have a lot more people contribute towards the causes, without burdening anyone with a larger donation amount.
The campaign runs for 10 days. Immediately then, the help is provided to the recipient and the details of the donation are uploaded on our platforms
Your donation of INR 1000 will have the power to turn someone's life around completely.
We fulfill every cause taken!
If the amount needed is not collected in full by the end of the 10th day, the remainder amount is borne by our founder; but the cause once taken its fulfilled no matter what! A promise made is a promise kept!

100%
Model
When Giving Tree began, we made a promise that 100% of public donations would go directly to the cause. We would be paying back the credit card fees - meaning when a donor gives INR 1000 with a credit card and we get only INR 980, we would fill the INR 20 gap and send the full INR 1000 to support the cause that the donor intended to support. We maintain complete transparency and any donor can request our bank accounts and statements.
So how do we
pay our
overheads?
From Day 1, our founder Zeel Thakkar funds all our operating expenses. None of the donations are used for any other purpose other than what they were intended to support. Complete transparency is an approach we believe in.
So how secure is my online donation transaction?
