This April, Giving Tree is taking up its 60th campaign to support an extraordinary individual-led initiative that has quietly become a lifeline for hundreds of voiceless animals in Mumbai.

For the past 6 years, this compassionate feeder and rescuer- 58 yr old Wilma Dsilva, has been consistently feeding and caring for 121 street dogs and 22 cats every single day — across areas ranging from Yari Road to Versova, including nearby lanes, gardens, and residential zones.

With no formal organisation or institutional funding, this work has been carried purely by personal effort, faith, and the support of a few kind-hearted individuals.

🐾 What the Daily Work Includes
    •    Daily feeding of 121 dogs + 22 cats
    •    Providing medical support for sick and injured animals
    •    Emergency rescues and trauma care
    •    Vaccination drives
    •    Neutering / sterilisation efforts
    •    Supporting abandoned and foster animals until adoption

The food prepared daily is approximately 40 kg, which supports over 120+ animals.

Currently, 15 dogs are under foster care, out of which 12 are vaccinated and neutered, ready to be adopted into forever homes. One of them is a special needs survivor of distemper.

Each foster animal costs approximately ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 per month, which means foster care alone can amount to nearly ₹1,00,000 monthly.

There are also several ongoing medical cases requiring urgent attention, including:
    •    Kidney-related treatment requiring specialised food
    •    Tick fever medication and antidote care
    •    Swelling and lymph node treatment requiring continued veterinary support

🌿 Why We Need Your Support

This campaign does not have a fixed fundraising target because the needs are ongoing, unpredictable & she is already in debts with the foster homes & vets. The funds gathered will go towards clearing outstanding and current medical bills and April month’s food requirement for Mrs Wilma.

Through Campaign 60, Giving Tree aims to support this noble lady so that these animals continue to receive the care they deserve — without interruptions.

Every donation, no matter how small, directly helps feed, heal, and protect animals who cannot speak for themselves ā¤ļøšŸ™
We also encourage you to join us on 25 April evening when we are going to meet these animals and feed them along with Mrs Wilma and share her compassion towards them! ā¤ļøšŸ™
